This annual meeting, the most important in an international level on Support to the Sahrawi People, has 4 purposes:
-
To be a space for reflection, coordination and planning for the solidarity actions with the Sahrawi People, with the purpose of unifying political and social pressures (workgroups).
-
To be a space for discussion and exchange for all of those interested in adding new ideas and projects (workshops).
-
Being an open window and an amplifier of the widespread solidarity movement related to the Sahrawi struggle, and of the struggle itself. To place the Sahrawi conflict in the foreground of the current debate and of the political agenda, and to once again claim the inalienable right of the people of Western Sahara for self-determination.
-
To make Catalan people and the Spanish government aware of the actual causes of the Western Sahara conflict and the effects on the Sahrawi people. They are suffering constant human rights violations and are living in exile in refugee camps in Tindouf since 1975.
During these three days, Barcelona will become a reference of international solidarity. Hundreds of people, social organisations, institutions and NGO's from the five continents will combine their efforts to share and coordinate their experiences and initiatives in favour of the inalienable rights of Sahrawi people.
